NOT A TRANSACTION

Some people never find peace.
They can’t sit still with themselves.
So they network, perform, pretend.

Everything becomes a transaction.
Even people.
Even hearts.

They don’t know what love feels like
unless it’s earned.
And they don’t know how to trust
unless someone proves their worth.

But not me.
I don’t want to live that way.
